The Greystone Project is designed as a force for change, a spatial platform to lift the careers of the most promising and gifted African Americans in the first half of the 21st Century.

The Greystone Project is established to create The Greystone Residence, Artist Apartments & Studios as communal “space and place” for people. The Greystone Project preserves the built environment of an early 19th-century Chicago “Greystone Residence” as a cultural laboratory to expand knowledge of past historical precedents. Come on this journey and explore the magnificence of truly original, artistically handcrafted “ROOMSCAPES” at The Greystone Residence, located in Chicago’s Landmark Black Metropolis – Bronzeville District.

In 2003, Interior Architect, Clemenstien Love, purchased a three-flat Greystone property circa 1903, located in Bronzeville and began personal restoration of the interiors, exterior facades and grounds. Today, the building is comprised of four residential apartments and landscaped gardens. The Greystone Project is founded with a vision for Design Education Programs to encourage academic understanding of artistically handcrafted curated interiors and Artist Salon & Residency Programs to broaden public discourse in the fields of architecture, design, visual arts and literature.

Clemenstien, guides visitors through a collection of uniquely curated “ROOMSCAPES” designed in the spirit of the past, evoking an opulent modern-day backdrop for everyday living. Join us at The Greystone Residence; participate in an immersive experience of artistically handcrafted interior architectural “ROOMSCAPES.” The Greystone Project serves as an intellectual incubator to cultivate identity and accomplishments of emerging African American Women architects, designers, visual artists and writers who will have a major impact on the cultural, social, and built landscape of today and tomorrow.
